"LASCIATE OGNI SPERANZA, VOI CH'INTRATE"...
(Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy, Inferno)
Partly based on the latest novel “Inferno” by American author Dan Brown, this tour follows the footsteps of Robert Langdon, the protagonist of the story, and not only. We will start with a visit inside Palazzo Vecchio, symbol of the civic power of Florence for over seven centuries, walk along the secret corridor of the Medici Family - the exclusive Vasari Corridor and visit the magnificent Boboli Gardens with the famous Grotta del Buontalenti. The Vasari Corridor can be open exclusively for you but must include a visit inside the marvelous Uffizi Gallery, a treasure trove of many of Italy’s greatest must-see masterpieces. Some of the masterpieces you cannot miss are the Ognissanti Madonna by Giotto, the Birth of Venus and the Primavera by Botticelli, Bacchus by Caravaggio and, of course, the Annunciation by Leonardo da Vinci! Enjoy free time for lunch in Oltrarno. In the afternoon we will visit the Palatine Gallery, the main gallery of Palazzo Pitti comprised of the apartments of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Medici. The rooms boast superb frescoes and magnificent stuccoes by Pietro da Cortona, the most important Baroque painter of the time. Here you can admire the splendid art collection of the Medici family including works by Raphael, titian, Rubens and van Dyck.
