As you step inside this 600-year-old establishment, where highly polished shelves are lined with bottles of sweet-smelling potions and colorful liqueurs, you will be engulfed by a potent fragrance of flowers and spices. In the heart of San Lorenzo district a gastronomic goldmine is waiting for you: Mercato Centrale. There is a huge food court on the top floor where you can enjoy the best street food in town and, al you need to do is pick up your preferred food and bring it to one of the communal tables where you will be served your drink. After lunch we will admire the David by Michelangelo on show at the Academy Gallery and explore the magnificent Duomo with its with its stunning “cupola” by Brunelleschi. We will still have some time to stroll along the heart of Florence, stop by Piazza della Signoria that holds an open-air gallery of Renaissance statues and cross Ponte Vecchio, one of the greatest symbols of Florence.
