Speed across the Gulf of Naples on very own private motorboat ride towards Capri Island and marvel at the beautiful vista of the Sorrentine Coast with Mt. Vesuvius as a backdrop!
Upon arrival in Capri’s Marina Grande our local taxi will take us to the “Piazzetta” of Capri, the small central square, a haven for the international jet set. It is enclosed like a courtyard and surrounded by an enchanting medieval quarter. With your expert guide enjoy a pleasant walk through Via Tragara to admire the splendid “Faraglioni” and back through Via Camerelle, the famous shopping street of Capri Island. Enjoy a typical fish lunch in one of the many restaurants nearby the Piazzetta. In the afternoon we visit Anacapri, the highest part of the island, where you can make an optional visit to the famous villa of Dr. Axel Munthe, whose bestselling book “Story of San Michele” tells of how he came to live on Capri and how he built his home on the remains of a Roman villa.
By chairlift we reach the peak of Mt. Solaro to enjoy sweeping views over the Faraglioni rocks, the center of the town of Capri, the Sorrento Peninsula, the Galli islands, and the whole of the Gulf of Naples. At 589 meters above sea level, Mt. Solaro is the highest and most panoramic point on the island of Capri. If you wish we can schedule a visit inside the Blue Grotto in the early afternoon or upon arrival in the morning. The entry to the Blue Grotto is by small wooden rowing boat and, as the entrance to the grotto is very low, it is necessary to lie down in the boat to enter. The Blue Grotto is a natural sea cave where sunlight passes through an underwater cavity and shines through the seawater, creating an ethereal blue reflection that illuminates the cavern. Enjoy a complimentary Champagne aperitif on board on your way back to your hotel.
